Happy Fall everyone! I hope you are welcoming the change of season and schedule…and I hope it has been easy and peaceful. It is ALWAYS a challenge to shift back into school mode. It’s always sad to see the pool cover in place, but it was a great summer for sure. There are two events to share and two big thank yous to share as well.
FALL FEST – On October 1, up at the park, we will be hosting a FALL FEST of FAVORITES! This is a potluck style, family-friendly event for all. Bring a fall favorite dish, something easy to serve and share, OR something fun and fall to drink! Seasonal drinks can be with or without alcohol…you decide! Just keep it low key, no worries – it’s Fall Y’all! Post what you’re interested in bringing on our Facebook page under events. We hope the weather will cooperate so we can have some outdoor movies, games, and a campfire. Everything should kick off around dinner time, so plan to come up, eat drink and play!
ANNUAL FALL MEETING – On October 20th we will have our fall meeting. Please note, the only available room reservation time at the library has us starting at 7:30. The meeting will be short and to the point, will cover a high level view of the last few months of projects and pool season, financial summary, and future. A postcard will be mailed to residents in the next few weeks.
PARK BENCHES – This fall, our own Nick Stefanski repurposed some old wooden fencing material into some new park benches. To fill a big need of more outdoor seating spaces at the park, Nick was able to salvage and re-use the wood to make a whole bunch of awesome benches. If you haven’t been to the park since the pool closed, walk through some time and check them out. You can read his wife Katie’s story about the project here. It’s an awesome addition!
SPECIAL THANKS! – A big special thank you goes out to Jan, Marlene and Carolyn (and women’s club) for executing a major cleanup at the Cabana. These super-women spent hours up there cleaning the snack room, the sports shed, and the area behind the cabana. It was no small task, and needed to be done! Thank you very much for all your hard work – those spaces are much more usable now, and are ready for some updates and upgrades. Thank you all who worked so hard to make that happen!
Hope to see you all soon!
